Excerpt:

ASH

She let me kiss her. She didn’t argue with me when I told her that we would never say goodbye. She smiled, just slightly but it was still a smile, when I called her my Psyche. I couldn’t focus on all of the other things she said. I knew she was angry and hurt; she had every right to be. I had tried to deny what she meant to me one too many times, and I was still afraid the last time may have cost me her forever.

But finally I had something I hadn’t had in a long time ~ hope. Despite her hateful words and lashing out, I finally felt a semblance of the peace I could only find in her presence. I didn’t know what my next move was, but I sure the fuck wasn’t giving up. After experiencing a life without her in it, I would never give up on her. I would never give up on us

My Review:

Let me preface this review by stating that I am very aware that most of you fellow Erin Noelle fans are either die hard Team Mason or die hard Team Ash, which I totally understand. 99.9% of the time, I can very easily pick which "team" I am on when there is a love triangle in a story and will support that choice to the very end, but surprisingly after reading Metamorphosis, I found myself completely torn as to what "team" I supported because honestly...

I fell in love with both Mason and Ash.

 *Cue Gasp*

Yes, I said it.

 I love Mason AND Ash.

Crazy and kind of skanky, I know, but I just can't help it!

I promise that I am usually not so fickle and don't get me wrong, I completely wanted to junk punch Ash multiple times in Meta because he acted like such a giant bag of douche, buuuut at the same time, I adored his connection with Scarlett and I was 100% intrigued by the depth of his character. The mystery surrounding Ash left me wanting more and wondering what the heck had happened in his life that made him act the way he did. (Which we thankfully finally get some insight into in Ambrosia!)
Mason, on the other hand, is sex on a stick and I loved that he was there for Scarlett when she needed him the most. He is just one of those characters that is completely lovable from the moment you meet him.

Thus the making of my very own little love triangle.

So obviously when people ask me....

My answer is...

Team MASHON.

Now let me reiterate that I normally am very opinionated about what guy I want my heroine to end up with, so it felt completely mind boggling to not really care which man candy Scarlett would choose, but as the release of Ambrosia approached that is exactly the situation I found myself in.
I figured that I would be fine with whoever Scarlett decided on...
as long as Erin promised to write another book that centered-around the jilted lover falling madly in love with a new kickass girl... preferably me!

tee hee

But all joking aside... as I started reading, I quickly realized that my mind and heart were not at all prepared for the CRAZINESS that unfolds in this book.

So without further ado, here is my review of Ambrosia.....

The story picks up right where Metamorphosis left off. Scarlett is back in Houston after being gone for 8 months, she still loves Mason, and they both desperately want to make their relationship work.

There was nothing sweet or sappy about the kiss, it was domineering, intense; purposeful. It was a kiss that told me he was in control of whatever relationship we were going to have from that point on.

We quickly realize that Mason was heartbroken after Scarlett disappeared on him, and now that she is back he will do anything to keep her.

(Cue super steamy sex scenes.)

"We can talk later, Angel," Mason said as he pulled his lips a short distance from mine. "I've thought way too long about what I'd do if I ever had you in my arms again, and talking isn't a big part of it."

*fans face*
I don't want to give too much away about what happens between Mason and Scarlett, but I will say that there is a lot of passion, a few secrets, a super bitchy band manager who you will want to judo chop in the boob, and did I mention passion!? You can tell that Scarlett and Mason have an intense attraction and love for one another,
but behind that love is a lot of fear,
and fear can be an Achilles heel in any relationship.

"I couldn't allow her to forgive him, because once she did, she would be his again. I would NOT let that happen."

Mason definitely feels threatened by the connection between Scarlett and Ash,
but will he let it get the best of him?

Speaking of Ash...

As much as Scarlett hates Ash for breaking her heart, there will always be a part of her that loves him, and despite her attempts to forget him, the connection between them is still there. I could literally FEEL the intense emotions seeping from the pages every time they encountered each other throughout the book.

Despite all of that, I still love him. The connection between us could never be severed... not by any thing or any one. No matter what he did... what he said... who he was with... none of it really mattered ~
I would always love him.

Now, yes Ash royally screwed up in Meta and the animosity that Scarlett has toward him is completely justified, but let me just say that the Ash we see in Ambrosia is an entirely different Ash than we saw in Metamorphosis. His character evolved and grew immensely during the time that Scarlett was away. Breaking Scarlett's heart transformed Ash into a better man, and now that she has returned, all he wants is for her to be happy and to try to make himself worthy of her love.
“All I want for you is to find happiness, even if it costs me mine."

"I just want to help build you back up, not tear you down any further."
“The next time I kiss you, it’s forever. I won’t let go again.”

Can you say SWOOOOON!?!?!

As "equally" as I loved both Mason and Ash before I started Ambrosia, this is the
moment when my Team MASHON love started to morph into
Team mASHon love (emphasis on the Ash.)
Now in all fairness, I was still on the Mason/Scarlett train at this point because holy moly... that boy is hot and he makes me feel all funny inside, but my heart was starting to feel all fluttery and hopeful at the thought of Ash and Scarlett possibly reconnecting.

Then enters Bentley (bitchy band manager you will inevitably want to boob punch).
Never before in the history of books have I so ardently loathed a female character. (Well except maybe Nan in Forever Too Far and that skank in Taking Chances because they were pretty evil too..)

but Bentley somehow takes evil wench status to a whole new level.
Her attempts to get her dirty little claws into Mason reeeeally ticked me off.
I HATED her and wanted to karate chop her ass right out of the book.

Her involvement in the story was definitely something I was not ready for or wanted, and it left me feeling a little frazzled and highly pissed off.

Then came Max...

And my mind and heart went into complete and utter meltdown mode.

However, slowly but surely, Erin brought a sense of peace back to what was a surprisingly crazy & tumultuous plot, and I thought for a brief moment, "Ok, this mess that Scarlett has put herself in just might work itself out. Everything is going to be ok.
And then BAM!!!! Erin unleashes yet another mind blowing BOMB and I thought...

Needless to say, Ambrosia is an absolute crazy emotional roller coaster, but in the best possible way. Erin Noelle's writing will make you swoon, make you shake your eReader in complete frustration, make your heart break, and then turn around and make your heart shoot out rainbows and glitter because it is so happy. Did I always agree with the choices that Scarlett made? Absolutely not, but this book was about Scarlett's road to self-discovery, and her road just happens to be extremely bumpy. What really matters is that she learned from those bumps, and in doing so, she grew as a person and finally figured out what true love really is!

One taught me how to fly like and angel ~ to free my spirit, to accept forgiveness, and to love without restraint. The other had taught me to fly like a butterfly ~ to embrace change, to celebrate innocence and vulnerability, and to open up my soul. Together, they had both given me the courage and the strength to fly with my own wings.

I personally loved Ambrosia, and am sooooo excited to see what happens in book 3. I just hope that EVERYbody finds their happy ending.... well except for Bentley. I hope she ends up alone and fat. ;-)

It's official....

I am the worst book reviewer of all time!
I have read so many books the last few weeks,
and I haven't written one single review.
Ugh!!! I seriously suck.

*sigh*

Sorry, y'all!
I just can't seem to make myself stop reading long enough to write any reviews,
but that all ends today!
Today, my friends, I am breaking the cycle.
Today, I promise to start trying to write and post reviews on books before I lose myself in another story.
(Key word... TRYING!)
Because let's get real...
We all know that I have a slight addiction to reading,
but I do promise to try to post reviews in a more timely fashion.

Friday I will be posting a review and excerpt as part of the blog tour for Erin Noelle's latest book, Ambrosia, so keep a look out for that,
but until then
here is a quick run down on all of the other amazing books I have read...

I am starting off this post with The Sea of Tranquility because honestly it was one of the best books I have read in a while. I adored the writing, the story, the characters, and pretty much everything else about it. Nastya is such a unique character and I found myself completely drawn into her story from beginning to end. As emotional and heart-wrenching as the plot can be at times, it was strangely uplifting and heart-warming at the same time. There is a bit of a slow build, but the story is so believable and real that the pacing seems spot on. This book is also a little bit more on the YA side. There is some romance, but this is not your typical boy meets girl and they fall in love kind of story. I don't want to say much about the plot or the characters because this is one that you just have to read for yourself, and it is definitely a book that shouldn't be missed.
I gave it 5 stars on Goodreads.

These books are part of a two part series that had me addicted from page one. The story is full of mystery, love, angst, and some MAJOR man candy.
Cole (said man candy) is the hero in the story and I absolutely LOVED him.
He is my new book boyfriend.
Like seriously, every single thing he said or did during the entire story made me swoon.
I have a big time book crush on him!
The whole time I was reading, I was like...

Creepy? Maaaaybe.
But you will totally feel the same after you read these books.
I don't want to say anything about the plot, other than it is very mysterious and had me questioning everything. You won't get many answers until book two, and even then I felt like some things were just kind of glossed over, but it didn't make me enjoy the story any less.  You should definitely check these books out.
I gave them each 4 stars.

Forever Too Far is the 3rd and final book for Blaire and Rush.
Speaking of Rush...
Let me just take a moment to reflect on all that is Rush Finlay...

Holy hotness! That man is without a doubt the sexiest fictional character of all time. I honestly don't think I will ever get over him. He is so sweet and protective and I just adore the way he loves Blaire.

As a whole this was a good ending to the series,
buuuut I do have to say that
I wish that there was less Nan in the story.
A lot less Nan... like preferably none at all.
She is a giant B and I freaking can't stand her.

And I hate that she is going to get even more attention in Grant's spin off book. Barf!

Buuuut anyways, back to Rush and Blaire...
I must mention that there are a lot of... ahem... steamy moments in this book,
(which is to be expected from Abbi Glines) and there was also a moment or two where I thought I was going to have to reach through the pages and smack some sense into Rush, but I still adored it.
Again, Forever Too Far is a wonderful conclusion to Rush and Blaire's beautiful story and I am so happy that they finally got their happy ending.

I will always hold a special place in my heart for Rush and I am little sad that his story is over.

*wipes tears*

Hopefully Glines will give us a little more Rush and Blaire in Grant's and Woods' upcoming stories.
Also, be sure to read Twisted Perfection (Woods' story) before this one because there are lots of spoilers in it.

One Tiny Lie is the companion novel for Ten Tiny Breaths, which I reviewed a while back and loved.
I  really like the way K.A. Tucker writes and this book was no exception.
(In fact, I think I liked Livie's story more.)
The plot was well paced, well written, and completely believable.
There was just something so refreshing about Livie's character and the connection between her and Ashton is super adorable. Ashton himself was quite the mystery to me. I honestly could not figure his character out, but when his backstory was revealed...
my mind was blown!
This is a very engaging read and was extremely hard for me to put down once I got started.
I would give it 4.5 stars for sure!

This is the companion novel to Losing It, which I also reviewed a while back and loved. In Faking It, we get Cade's story as he struggles to get over Bliss and move forward with his life. It is told from dual POV's (Cade's and his new leading lady, Max). Max and Cade are complete opposites at first glance, but as you get to know them, you learn that they are similar in all the ways that matter.
Cade is probably the sweetest and nicest guy character EVER.
He made me grin like an idiot the entire story.

*girly sigh*
Ultimately, this a sweet love story riddled with some pain and angst, but it is a highly enjoyable read that is definitely worth your time.
I would give it a solid 4 stars.

I absolutely loved this book and I especially LOOOVED Will Ryan.... like A LOT *fans face*,buuut I have say there were moments that I wanted to shake Mia and scream at her to get her shiz together. Now to be fair, she has quite a bit going on in her life... (losing her father, finding her way in a new city, trying to figure out how to run a business, struggling to figure out what career path to take, and trying to fight feelings for a super sexy musician!) Whew! Any girl might crumble under such pressure, and while she didn't always handle things the way I wanted her to... I still completely adored her character and thoroughly enjoyed her journey of self-discovery. Yes, I found myself frustrated at times, but I liked that Mia's story wasn't all hearts and flowers. It was REAL! She struggled, made mistakes, and did things that drove me absolutely bonkers, but I honestly couldn't get enough!

In the end, I gave Sweet Thing 4.5 stars despite my frustration with Mia because the story takes you on such an emotional and believable journey.

(Aaaand also because Will Ryan makes me feel all funny inside! teehee)

But seriously, Renee Carlino's writing will make you swoon, laugh, shake your eReader in frustration, and soooo much more. This book is a definite must read! :-)

This was another really sweet love story that is completely heart-warming and well written. The banter between Rowen and Jesse was super cute and I loved watching their relationship blossom. This is just one of those quick and easy reads that will make your heart happy. Nicole Williams has decided to continue Jesse an Rowen's story in a sequel called, Near and Far, and I will definitely be reading it!

This is a spin off of Jennifer L. Armentrout's Lux series, which is a major must read. While the Lux series centers around the alien race of the Luxen, Obsession takes you into the world of the Arum, the enemy alien race of the Luxen. I know you might be thinking, "Aliens!? Really!?" but I promise you this is such a great series. Obsession is QUITE a bit more steamy than the Lux novels. In fact the Lux books are very YA in comparison to this one. The story itself is fast paced and gives you a unique insight into the war between the Arum and Luxen, and did I mention it is steamy!? Because holy moly, is it ever! It should also be mentioned that Obsession takes place in-between Opal and the 4th Lux novel, which is called Origin,
so it is pretty important that you read the Lux novels before this one.

There are a few other books that I have read lately, but these are the ones that I enjoyed the most. Hope you can find something that catches your eye, and as always, if you read one of my recommendations, please let me know how you like it!
Until then,
Happy Reading, Y'all! :-)
